hello everyone,
As some of you may know already, Pete had major surgery last Friday (10/11) for a large mass/tumor situated on his hip. He has asked me to write this post to let all his friends here know what has transpired today after he received the pathology report from his surgeon. Here is what he wrote:
The pathology came in, late, last night. Not the best news. It is called pleomorphic sarcoma - a soft tissue cancer. At the least, I will be back in surgery for more tissue removal. At the end, it was growing much more rapidly. The next step is The Kellogg Cancer Center for scans. We need to be sure about where this is and if it has spread. If it hasn't, that other surgery will take place in the area where it touched the fascia/muscle and this will be removed. There will be a local therapy in that case to follow, such as radiation perhaps. We need the scans and they are getting onto this right away. That information is what we need, now. The doctor reassured us that this is survivable and on that, we'll rely, with God's blessing.
Let us all keep him (& his family) in our thoughts & prayers. I assume he won't be around in chat very much but I could be wrong about that.
Please feel free to write your good wishes to Pete here so when he does sign online again he will see them & be cheered. Thanks, everyone.
Ave

I have no doubt at all that you are on a good path, Pete! Keep your positive attitude, please! You are much too smart to let this thing get you down.
And keep up listening to 24seven.fm stations, of course! It helps! _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Thanks, guys and especially Ave,
for posting here.
I will try and look/update, as much
as possible but keeping it straight
and narrow, too.
Key word is 'survivable'.
Immediate goal is more data. We
are on the scans and everything
related, today. When this is done
and the data collected, we'll know
what we are going after in the
surgery that is to come.
Thanks/best to all of you.
Pete
PS: The word, at this very early
point, is that I will still have a
mustache despite the therapy. _________________ All in the world recognize the

Dear Pete,
my thoughts and prayers are with you and also your family cause I know from personal experiences that not only the "affected" person needs support, but also his family. But I'm really glad to know that you do have a wonderful family that supports you, helps you and is there for you... just like you would do it for every single one.
Feel free to come to chat if you want to and share your thoughts and feelings with us cause we care about you and really want to know. But if you're not into chatting, you can just be around, so we can entertain you a bit and have you around as a person we always love to have around
*hugs* |

Wishing the best for you and your family, Pete. Take care of yourself and I'll look forward to seeing you when you're feeling up to it.
I'm here if you need a friend and a sympathetic ear; my step-sister has been in and out of cancer treatments for the past few years. I would say I have as good an idea what you'll be going through as anyone who hasn't had to actually go through it.
Stay positive!

Best wishes Pete! I'm loving the keywords "survivable" and "will still have a mustache". You got this, you're strong and you have a strong support team. If you are ever having a low day, please don't hesitate to message me or come in to chat. Thoughts and prayers to you and and the family.

Thanks, all. I appreciate it.
Tough weekend but I am almost through it.
Monday, for important scans in preparation
for the likely next surgery, later, this week.
I will try and post. Thanks, again. _________________ All in the world recognize the
