Does it display correct album cover for you guys? Mine doesn't It kinda pulls random cover based on the composer. Like just now there was Madagascar song and it showed Inception as a cover
Any ideas? Or is it normal? |

Thread resurrection!
I just started using TuneIn, and it's still doing this. For example. a Patrick Doyle track showed a cover for one of his Harry Potter soundtracks. It's been doing this pretty consistently. Is this something that can be fixed on SST's end? It sort of defeats the usefulness of having covers showing on screen.
Other than that though, I'm loving having SST on my Kindle. |

I know what you are talking about, Grenadier. I never looked into it but my guess is that since SST shows proper covers everytime, the reason of the problem you are referring to is probably on TuneIn's end. For me it looks like TuneIn's library of CD covers is limited and sometimes you see just random cover from the work of the given composer. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

It's pretty much every time. The weirdest part is that even on more common items like an Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade track, I was getting the cover to an Empire Strikes Back re-recording from Varese Sarabande. So it seems they have some pretty obscure covers, and are just not getting the title field to search on. It feels like they are only getting the composer half of the search string. |

We do not provide images to TuneIn. The 'problem' is on the end of TuneIn. You can maybe report it to them, not sure if they doing something about it. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Well I've contacted TuneIn and got this reply:
Quote: |
Hello,
Thanks for your email. TuneIn subscribes to several 3rd party music databases for album art information. Tunein searches these databases using the metadata found in the id3 tags of a songs being played. If the databases can find the song in their database, Tunein will pull the album art associated with the song. There are occasions where the album art will not be from the original album. Typically that's because the song was entered into the databases as part of a "best of" or "greatest compilation". In some instances, the song id3 tags may not be labeled accurately which may pull album art from a completely different artist. Keep in mind that if the song ID is not located in the databases before it ends, it will not be displayed.
A more consistent measure for broadcaster song information to be displayed is through our Air API. It can help a broadcaster display song information when a user is searching for a particular song. Thus helping a broadcaster get new listeners. You can find more information at http://tunein.com/broadcasters/api/. If you can use the script please email us back. I apologize for the inconvenience. |
Now I'm just copy/pasting and have really no idea if this is true. But I can perhaps forward anything related from you guys and see if they can fix it. As it is really disturbing sometimes |

MusicBee seems to have a similar problem. It just pulls up some random photo of the composer, usually.
It's mostly on their end though. They seem to use the ID3 tags of the song: The title, artist and album information that comes along with the stream. SST provides no album info, so perhaps their systems can't handle searching by title and reverts to finding a picture of the artist. _________________ Music is not just made of sounds. I see, so not much that can be done? How does SST gets their album picture exactly? So I can try and forward it to TuneIn? |
