With a new director for the sequel in the Twilight series, New Moon, it appears that Carter Burwell has been replaced as composer as well. According to Carter Burwell's site, new director Chris Weitz has hired Alexandre Desplat (the collaborated on The Golden Compass) to compose the score to New Moon.

Burwell had also mentioned that he has no idea of any of his themes will be kept for the sequel, so it shall be interesting to see if Desplat adapts any of the themes or creates all new themes. |

Well I personally loved Burwell's themes in Twilight so I hope Desplat adapts some of them for New Moon. If not it could turn out like Nicholas Hooper on Harry Potter 5...so different it's barely recognizable. _________________ Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die tomorrow. - James Dean |

Here is a link to Burwell's notes on making the Twilight Score, Bella's Lullaby in particular. It's a great piece and has a bit of a romantic history - thought you'd be interested in reading about it.

Also, on a plus side for Rob Pattinson - he played the song on piano for the movie. May not seem impressive but he did it with so much emotion it was goosebump inducing. _________________ Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die tomorrow. - James Dean |
