That's pretty cool, Schroddie. It adds a bit of "uncertainty" to you. But I have to ask: do you own a cat?

Wink Definitely. Especially, my reseach is very uncertain!

I wish. I love cats! My first one (Mickey) got poisoned by a neighbor and my second (Mimine) died of cancer. Since I moved to the U.S., I don't have a cat because it would be a problem when I go to France to visit my family. But, on my msn messenger, I had a picture of a smiling cat. My friends called that the Schrodinger's cat of course.

I liked it because it kind of sounds like someone from another planet so I kept it.

You must really love physics to be doing a doctorate in it. My father is a physicist and even he doesn't advise people to pursue that path Wink

Do you want to be an academic or do you want to work in the private sector?

Actually I don't and I also advice people not to pursue this path!! I love maths though. But, to me, maths is useless unless you apply it to something. I hated chemistry, was not that good in biology so I chose physics.

I'd like to continue on doing research, and teaching is fun so most likely academic.

Yeah, I always liked physics better than the other two sciences too. Like you, I especially disliked chemistry.

Biology and medicine fascinate me though so I'll try to find a job linked to medical physics.
What do you do in life? Science related work?

Nope, it's kind of a long story. Right now I'm a grad student in international affairs, conflict/defence specialty. I mostly work from a historical perspective, because I used to be a grad student in history. I'm going to be shifting back into pure history because I'd like to teach at a university and I find myself more inspired by that particular discipline.

lol... yeah, that was one of the biggest reasons I didn't go into science too. I actually did my first year of university in Math, but decided to change.

Interesting. I was also aiming at Computer Science (you had to take math in your first year at my school to go into comp sci) but quickly changed my mind when I witnessed people trying to sing Spice Girls songs in the computer lab. Wink
