I'd like to ask our Crew for removal of the album "Simpsons, The: Songs In The Key Of Springfield"
Link to album: http://www.streamingsoundtracks.com/modules.php?name=Album&asin=B0000033Z8
In my opinion there is much to much dialogues in most of the tracks included. Since that particular CD has very little of uniterrupted music, it stands out from the stream in negative way for me.
Of course that's just my personal opinion.
I'm adding poll to let SSTers express their opinion in easy way. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

It is fun to hear it from time to time, but not really suitable for this station. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Might we just keep the instrumental tracks? 1, 13, 16, 17, 18, and 36-39 are variations on the title theme, many of which pay homage to (or poke fun at) different styles of music, other themes, and composers. I think those are worth keeping. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

I'm a big fan of the Simpsons, and many of those songs bring back fun memories of different episodes; and I laugh every time I hear Homer's voice, almost regardless of what he says.
Still, I agree with molossus. Most of the tracks really stand out. Perhaps LadyI's compromise is a good approach.

Your suggestion sounds good LadyI. I didn't know there are instrumental tracks there. Probably I never had a chance to catch one on air or they just didn't stand out as much as dialogue tracks do. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

I'm with ladyInque on this. I personnally don't like this score, but some of the tracks are suitable for this station. _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |

This album for me was a reason to file a posting in the "Man, I HATE this track"- forum. Something I would not easily do.
Still, knowing that there are a lot of Simpson-fans who somehow like it, I can go along with the compromise. Another suggestion maybe move the songs to '80's -FM?? Or DeathFM (That would be something and I'm sure some DFM-members would love it. _________________

It's not the 80s, dutchbat. At least, not most of it. I own the album, so I'm pretty familiar with it, and even I don't like all the tracks. So I guess I'll see what the result of this poll is before I write my review. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

| As much as I like the Simpsons, I agree with the suggestion to keep the score tracks. |

Speaking only for myself here, the album definitely stands out, but in an entertaining way. I don't think there's a strong enough reason to have it removed. _________________ "You have been chosen to represent Earth in Mortal Kombat. Be warned. Despite this discussion, another Simpsons cd with similar objection for that from my side is being added. I think the forumdiscussion now must include this cd as well. _________________

Personally do not like that one as well. Only the new CD was donated by treki. And if JERIC approved it before sending it in, it is a bit difficult remove it now. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)
