Because there are so many Star Trek fans (and also a lot of star trek music by now) and because there were some people talking about it in chat i'm starting this topic.
My suggestion for the day would be the 8th of September, when "man trap" from TOS was first shown on american tv (so says wikipedia germany). Gene Roddenberry's birthday sadly is the same day as SST's birthday |

Hmmm. If this is approved, then certainly Star Wars Day will be obligatory.

I say Star Trek and Star Wars on the same day! (With any luck, after one entire day of Star trek/ Wars, the tracks won't be heard for the next 15 days) _________________ They say of the Acropolis where the Parthenon is... |

I'd agree about that, but if i remember it right, there isn't as much Star Wars music on SST like there is from Star Trek |

| I say it should be April 5th, the date of the first warp flight and first contact with the Vulcans. I don't know why I remember that, but still looked it up to confirm it. |

You're right: there are at least 11 Star Wars albums on SST, compared to 24 for Star Trek, but more importantly, 6 of those 11 are by John Williams. So, with the album and composer in the queue rules, there would probably not be much more Star Wars music played in one day than usual.
But it's the principle of the matter. If there's going to be a "Star Trek Day," there darn well better be a "Star Wars Day," which actually already exists.
Personally, I'm not too sold on either one. (Except there's already a "Talk Like a Pirate Day," so.....)

This is a cool idea. I'm a huge TNG fan so maybe the day can be set around that. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus
