|
I realize I probably did a bad job describing my idea in the subject line, so here go more words and a picture.
When I listen to music through iTunes, I can toggle on something called "Cover Flow." This shows the covers of the music to which I'm listening, and they slide across the screen like one of them ol' fashioned jukeboxes. Another click, and this visual parade comes on full screen. For those of you unfamiliar with this functionality, here is a screengrab from my computer.
This feature is useful if I'm sitting across the room from my computer and suddenly wonder, "Hey. What the heck album is this?" Since laziness prevents me from walking over there, I can just glance and identify the album, even without my glasses.
So I was wondering if something like that could be done here. Like a web page that shows the cover art of the current song in the queue, plus the one previous and the one to follow. It doesn't have to be huge — we have, what, 500x500 album images here? — and it doesn't have to be a great resolution.
I have the feeling this would be a very simple page to encode, grabbing the ASINs from the queue page. I could probably program this myself if I had slightly more than the very basic HTML skills I possess. But I don't. |

Yeah, there is quite a symetry between the left and right cover _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |

Absolutely in favor of having a cover flow.
Great idea LadyInque. _________________

That's a cool idea, indeed. I wonder if it could be implemented as part of or in parallel with a 'mobile' version of the site, which I know is in high demand. (I myself still refuse to purchase a smart-phone. I like being simply unreachable from time to time.)

Hmmm, no smart phone owner I've ever met seems to know that.

Well, they're called "smart phones" not "phones for smart people" for a reason, I guess.
