Yesterday was PI day (3/14) ... Since PI being 3.141593, some one came up with the idea of making PI-Kus:
3 for the first line
1 for the second
4 for the third
...
(3) Easy it's
(1) Not.
(4) But it can be
(1) done,
(5) If one has the time.

Oh! I get it! I was reading the word to sound like picas, which are a sort of rodent, I think. But aren't haiku only 3 lines long? Waka poetry is 5 lines long, so this may be a... piwaka? Ugh. PI-ku is better. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

You know, once, I had the opportunity to see the old platypus. I asked him:
"Master, what is the purpose of life?"
He looked at the sky, beat his tail on the ground and said :
(3) The sun rises
(1) daily
(4) over the bright savannah
(1) but
(5) the impala does the same
And now, my life isn't the same as it was before. _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |

Clarify
If the number is 3.141593, I see the lines of word or words goes to the 5. Are the last two numbers, 9 and 3 not welcomed? Or too hard?
Seems if you are going to start should use them all.
OR
Did I miss the whole idea? {this is always possible} _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |

@Cinder- do you mean each subsequent poster adds the next place of pi to their pi-ku? I think it's an interesting idea- we should implement it. |

Actually Pi has even more numbers (indefinately)
So should we include those as well? _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

WOW....now it appears we have three choices! I like them all.
To review.. OH do correct me AK-Mal_Owner it is your forum idea!!!
1. Using the number, one would write what is a version of haiku, but not really as that is by syllables in three lines. Line by line it forms a poem.
How far we take it depends on choice I suppose.
2. Gert's idea is add a line. I like that too. Not sure how many would commit to the line of nine!!!
3. Third idea is stop and use the numbers as it was started.
It works for
me.
To use the coded
numbers.
With thought we can enjoy.
Do not trouble yourself too much, it will work.
Now your turn. _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |

3.1415926
It's tricky
to
keep track of all
those
sneaky syllables.
However, I've a secret weapon-
count fingers!
My problems are now solved. |

3.141593
I looked to see how many numbers there are! haha what a joke on me. The site I checked asked for first 100 numbers! Are you kidding me? So I just took the first section. If you used all those numbers you would write an epic ballad!
3.1415926535
I am going by words in a line. I see Gert used syllables, Hmm which is better no idea.

There isn't a winner in syllables versus words- it's fun either way. I just had haikus in my mind and those are based on syllables. But Cinder gave me a great idea, which I now inflict upon all of you:
The Ballad of Epicness in Which Gert Saves Indiana From Zombies
(by Gert!)
3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937
A nice day
in
Indiana,
full
of happy cornfields
and tractors and happy little barns.
Alas!
It was not meant to last.
Beach landings were made.
The country
is swarmed by ZOMBIES!
Across deserts and rainforests,
over towering mountains and plains,
the walking dead did shamble.
Military attempts were foiled.
Still they came.
Horror!
What can stop
terrifying undead legions?
No one but Gert!
“How”, you
ask, dear forum readers?
Is this perhaps
a super-cure
gone dead wrong?
Or have the Martians finally
beaten us
at their
game of bewildering chess?
Forsooth! The fault assuredly lies
…
(ready?)
on the shoulders of MAD SCIENCE!
the ‘Z’ in ‘Z boson’ stands for
‘zombie’, of course.
So,
our intrepid hero found a H-
boson gun (‘H’ means human),
and
wastes the rotting corpses.
Regeneration is rapid, and
particles
of ‘H’ now spread as rapidly as
‘Z’ once did.
All of North America is saved,
and Gert once again slinks off into
the cornfields
until evil strikes anew.
This was fun, and I blame it on being up at 3am. Also, my apologies to CERN and anyone who understands particle physics. |

BRAVO!!!!!
My goodness! Gert you out did yourself. I was wondering why you had not commented on my poem. Now I know.. you kicked it up a few notches!
I shall see what I can come up with!!!
Hopefully other readers will do the same.
never mind wild science.. too much fun! _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |
