The most memorable bit of music from the movie Heat is not here. If you look at the soundtrack listing, Track 13, 'Force Marker' by Brian Eno, is not listed.
Most folks, I'm sure, would associate that particular track definitively with the movie Heat, but the track is missing. We jump from 12 to 14.
'Force Marker', in my opinion, has a greater association with the movie than any of the other tracks -- even Goldenthal's score -- which is why I believe that it should be included in the SST Playlist.
It's the track that leads (integrally) into the bank robbery, one of the finest action scenes ever filmed.
It makes little sense to include Eno's & U2's 'Always Forever Now' and not include Brian Eno's 'Force Marker'.
I think 'Force Marker' by Brian Eno should be reinstated, do you agree with me?

Very nicely proposed and argued, Jay-C. I was not particularly impressed with the sample. *shrug* However, it does appear to be 'score' and not merely a pop song used in the film. And if it is as integral to the film as you suggest (I've seen it, but I don't remember this track), then I think you have a solid point.

BIG thumbs up for this one. I agree with Jay-C 110%. It is pure score, pure adrenaline-pumping music and pure Heat. It is a black eye upon SST for not having it here in the first place. |
