Its accessible through his website but Bear's Blog is probably one of the most interesting composer blogs i have ever read...not sure of any other actually. Watching the show each week then reading how he figured out how to compose that weeks episode, what went into the process and all the instruments and actors he used is truly a fascinating look into the composer's mind. Well worth a read or a skim even if you do not watch the show...though it is full of spoilers obviously

Although Bear is most often thought of in conjunction with Battlestar Galactica, here he is in an interview for an upcoming game that he scored the music for a neat all around guy and always interesting to see how he comes up with music for his works!

If you followed Battlestar Galactica im sure you know about Caprica, the prequel show scheduled for sci-fi in the next year. There was a 1.5 hour 'movie' made, released on DVD last week that is the opening for this new series. Here is Bear, talking a little about the theme he created for the show Caprica then playing it out on his piano ST released this summer!

If you are a Battlestar Galactica fan and you havent visited the official sci-fi site, shame on you here is an episode from one of the producers, David Eick, video blog. This one concerning Bear's job and him visiting the set to help Kara Thrace (Katie Sackhoff) play her part on the piano in a touching scene from the final season of the show
I highly recommend going through all the video blogs if you love the show! they are a lot of fun, but not relevant to be posted here _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. Brought to my attention by Nate, a funny little parody found on the season 4 DVD of BSG about Bear and his music. There is cussing in the 3 parts at times, just a warning

There is a short documentary, "The Evolution of a Cue", about how music for Battlestar Galactica was actually made in the Battlestar Galactica Season 4.5 DVD and Complete Series Blu Ray releases. In Europe the documentary can be found in the Battlestar Galactica, The fourth and final season DVD box set (Disc 8 ).
It's really a very informative documentary using one cue as an example about the composing, recording and mixing process for the 4th Season of BSG. The cue is for the scene where Laura Roslin is jogging in the episode 414 "A disquiet follows my soul".
There's also a second documentary on the BluRay set called "The Musicians Behind Daybreak".
Bear McCreary discusses these documentaries also in his blog.
(I couldn't find these videos or parts of them anywhere in the net (at least as legally distributed clips).)
