Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea will be released in Japanese theatres this Saturday.
Unlike almost all animated films these days, Ponyo is entirely hand drawn, and looking at the trailer it definitely has what's make all Miyazaki movies unique.
As usual, Joe Hisaishi wrote the music of the film and two soundtracks are now available: the image album, which was released some time ago and which is like a preview of the official soundtrack.
The official soundtrack is available since yesterday in Japan. We foreigners might have to wait a bit before having a chance to hear it. Personally, I can't wait!

Ponyo was opened today here in Japan!
I want to see it soon, but I have to go seeing Kung Fu Panda first, because I have free tickets! Because I'm sure that Ponyo will be shown in theaters for months, I don't so hurry. (I don't think Panda can hold on in theaters for a long time... most of the DreamWorks movies flopped here in Japan...)
A theater near my home plays Ponyo trailer everyday... "Ponyo Song" is stuck in my head. Joe Hisaishi is genius _________________ Miya the Pridelander
