Since we already have Chrono Trigger, Secret of Evermore, and Final Fantasy VII in their original sound version (OSV) I thought it would be fitting that we had just about the best videogame soundtrack ever. Of course I'm referring to Final Fantasy VI (or 3 on SNES in the USA). Every song is so unique giving such a vast array of personality, it is one of the most well thought out game soundtracks ever. I own it and love it very much. I even have mp3's on my phone to listen to.
Anyone who has played this game would agree that this is one of those iconic albums that defines what great videogame music should be.
Here is a website with a review and some samples:

Without audio samples, I can't decide. If people really think this is the best of the series, then I suppose we should have it. But I'm not in favor of adding more MIDI tracks.
I'm not denying that the FF soundtracks are quality compositions; I just don't think that MIDI arrangements in any way constitute quality recordings. And with all the various Final Fantasy OST's, concert arrangements, piano arrangments, etc. it gets to be a bit much.
However, if this particular OST is of high quality in both composition and recording, I'd be all for it.

| I voted no. Because it's MIDI, the sound quality isn't there. TBH, if there are MIDI tracks on the site now, I'd vote Yes to removing them. |

Anyway, don't we already have FFVI? What are the major differences between this one and Grande Finale?
I vote for keeping the FFVI with the best sound quality, whichever that may be.
...And I vote against having numerous different versions of FFVI in the playlist. We already have 27 --count them, that's twenty-seven-- different Final Fantasy albums in the playlist. (I did not include Goldenthal's motion picture score, because apparently that film is unrelated to the game series.)
Just my $0.02.

Welllllllll, imho, the Grand Finale album isn't terrible but the orchestration is a little loose (i.e.- they obviously didn't have the best players) but it's good nonetheless. There are several tracks that aren't in our library that have merit. Shadow's theme, Dancing Mad, Edgar & Cyan's theme, and others.
Of course you realize I love this album but I also understand that not everyone will have the same passion for it
again; thanks for the $0.02 always appreciated _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

Sorry, I'm going to have to say no to this. I like FF but this is too midi. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I like the music to FF myself, prefer the orchestrated versions of it more. _________________ "In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same." |
