By now you've probably seen the new feature "Your Favorites". You can access it in the site menu, under Community. If you do not see it there, you may need to refresh your browser.
On each album you will notice heart icons. The single heart icon allows you to add a track to Your Favorites. The double-heart icon allows you do add an album to Your Favorites. You can also do this from the improved options block. VIPs are able to add tracks they requested from "Your Requests".
You can set Your Favorites as Private (default) or Public (recommended). You can view other user's favorites from their profile which can be reached may different ways.
You can have a maximum of 100 tracks and 50 albums in Your Favorites. Tracks/Albums can be toggled.
By clicking the info icon you will be able to perform several functions such as move, remove, add comments, or see who else publicly has the track/album in their favorites.
There is already a thread open for bugs so please use it instead of here.

I just had a thought, another use to which this feature may be put. Many SSTers have a charming tendency to request tracks and dedicate them to other listeners — especially on birthdays. Often this is a track the requester thinks the individual would appreciate musically, thematically, or just because it has "birthday" in the title, or the user's name. I have no intention of ending that practice. But now, if someone has a special day, and have a public favorites list, any well-wisher with an available request might pick a track from that list, making the queue reflect the birthday person's tastes a little more.

Wow. Now THAT is cool. This has to be the single coolest addition to the site all year! (Is there an SST Award for that?)

Now, this may be a bit crazy for me to suggest, but... I'm not a VIP (anymore  ), and I'm DEFINITELY excited about using this feature, but I also think this could be VIP-only feature to serve as yet another carrot to encourage new VIP members. I know it would certainly make me jealous.

I'm REALLY loving this addition. I don't have to navigate the playlist to get my fav tracks!! Love it!

Yes First time I saw it this weekend I was thinking it was a VIP feature.
If considering to make it VIP only, you can also make a difference in the limits. You can add more favs when you are VIP.\
(just thinking this should be in the other thread (bugs/ideas/comments))

If I had to choose I would vote for making Favourites a feature available to all SSTers. (non-VIPs too).
I like Sirius' suggestion of more favs in the list for VIPs though.

A worthy compromise! And I promise I will NOT complain about having access to this feature as a non-VIP.

A fantastic idea, this favourites feature is. I've long wished there was a way to keep track of songs I hear and go, 'Wow, that was awesome!'. Having more favourite slots as a VIP would be an additional selling feature for the upgraded service level, too.

Thank you for the support. Favorites is a JERIC's idea and he worked hard helping me to put it in this way. I'm just a programmer.

Pesa that is something I would say also about myself, but I know you are not 'just' a programmer.

Wow! That is so cool and very detailed. I love how you can put them in order too. I just started and I already have 24 albums on there... I'm sure it will continue to grow. I'll have to put them in order later!

I aslo support Sirius' idea that VIPs could have more tracks in the favorites list.
I just discovered this today. I wish I had more time to start putting my favorites into it but, alas, too much to do at work right now... |
