Is there an option to disable the chat when I'm not logged in? I like to listen without the distraction of the chat on the home page. _________________ "After dark all cats are leopards." - Native American Proverb |

Well gosh, I had no idea I was that annoying in chat
I am not aware of any option that allows that SnowLeopard, but maybe someone knows better than I do. Nice to see you in the forums though! |

If you have the Adblock Plus extension for Firefox, you can adblock the iFrames that chat uses and just be left with the small chat heading and a bit of background colour beneath it.
Of course this can't differentiate between logged in or out too easily.
If you really wanted to, one way would be to have login to www.streamingsoundtracks.com, which shows the chat and you could access SST by the IP, being 209.9.229.196 and block the frames when you are accessing SST by IP, enabling you to switch between the two 'modes'. |

I have the same issue with the Events & Birthdays block (right under the chat). _________________ The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on Flying: The knack of throwing yourself at the ground and miss.

I've recently come across an issue that might affect new users, and it relates to the anonymous chat, so I will post here.
I recently directed a family member to SST (and also AFM). She is interested in listening as well as requesting, but probably not in participating in the chat or forums, so I told her to register so she can make requests. When she logged on for the first time, she saw the 'Click Here To Subscribe' link in the VIP box, and after going there, she was under the impression she had to pay in order to register.
I was able to correct her, obviously, but it dawned on me that a new user might not immedicately see the User Module with the Log-In link because it is now found under the Chat Module. This is probably minor, but it might defray a few casual visitors from becoming members.
Might it be better to locate the Log-In links at the top for an anonymous user?
Just my two cents. Please correct me if I've overlooked something.
