|
Hi all SSTers!
Recently I found some articles about animation scoring.
It seems SST has many fans of animation scores, so I'm posting here.
Originally I posted them on Hans-Zimmer.com forum (only one film music related forum I've registered besides SST),
but apparently few members there got interested in this kind of things...
Animated compositions gain respect
(featuring Giacchino, Zimmer, Menken, and Silvestri)
Music for animated features not child's play
(featuring Giacchino, Zimmer, Lennertz, Menken, and HGW)
And here is really interesting interview with Michael Giacchino...
he talks about Pixar shorts (One Man Band, Lifted) and Disney's new Goofy short.

Very nice Pridelander!
I just read the articles. Very interesting information about the Ratatouille and Simpsons scores, and I happen to be more and more a fan of Giacchino's works...
Of course, you can also count me in the ASFC (animated score fan club) _________________ "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" - Blade Runner |

Really great. I'm always a fan of learning more about an artist or his work _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

You're welcome, everyone.
When I started searching for information about animation scores on the web, I thought they are a little overlooked... especially Disney's. Most of Disney fans are interested in songs only, on the other hand many score fans tends to overlook them because of lack of good score releases.
So I was glad when I saw a lot of people love animation scores here on SST.
And I also love to learn about artists and their thought! When I'm bored with writing papers, I put composers/filmmakers' names into Google... then I find some interesting interviews or articles
