This album has really peaked my interest. It features music from the score to the 1922 Nosferatu.
"Selections from their acclaimed score to F.W. Murnau's 1922 vampire classic "Nosferatu," conjuring up creeping shadows and gorgeously sinister landscapes with hints at Satie, Debussy, Tom Waits and Bernard Herrmann. Elegant Halloween mood music."
see the album and reviews here
There are samples to listen to as well. I think it would fit in our collection nicely, I like what I hear, and I think we would be helping another lesser known group get some love. _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

Well, I've listened to the samples, read some of the reviews...
and voted 'Yes'.
But some of the tracks I've heard I find strange for example: 14 Discovering the Coffin or 17 Sailors Encounter the Rats
and I don't like them (they build the atmosphere of mystery and I guess they fit well in the movie but I think they are weird).
I think that tracks: 1 Main Title Theme
and 21 Nina By the Seashore
are interesting and worth listening
I hope the other tracks that are not in the samples are also good, that's why I voted 'yes'
(I voted yes also because I like wlz's 'boxing kitty' avatar, but don't tell him that ) |

So how many votes does it usually take for JERIC to take notice? I'm trying not to let this one slip away. _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

Well, i have a question. When was this written/released? Did it even appear, on video or DVD or even in theaters, with Nosferatu? Or was this just a composing exercise taken on by the artist in question? I don't think it's necessarily a "piece of history" if it was created very recently. That doesn't mean it isn't a worthy score. I'd have to listen to the samples some more. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Very good observation LadyInque. After further reviewing the website, I believe it is not the original work so (like you said) calling it a part of history may not be accurate. I don't think I can change the poll question though. In any event, I still believe this is a worthwhile endeavor for SST's library. _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

Perhaps you wouldn't need so many if the title of this thread weren't so confusing with the missing vowels. *g* |

Sorry Valfor, the title will only allow a certain amount of characters. I simply ran out of space! I was trying to squeeze the name in the little space and still make it somewhat readable. _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

You're right, it's an awful long name. Perhaps it would have been easier to write only the Initials of the Composer name? |
