Bad news.
Today the german wikipedia article has been deleted.
The reason for it was 'lack of relevance'. |
Well, then f*() those @$$h0^e$ and let them have their "lack of relevance"!
I admit, I'm a litte p*ss*d off, but that doesn't change anything.
Thanks to everyone for helping though.
Maybe we should find a way to promote SST more in middle Europe, maybe this will turn out to be "relevant". |

When I created the entry last year, I laid it out as generally and sparsely as possible just so that the editors would know that it was for informational not promotional purposes. I figured that if people wanted to know more they could then link to the site. However, the changes you have all made are great! We always need to be updating and moving forward. |
Hey, we do what we can. The best discoveries are made by accident, but what you do with them must be deliberate. I don't know what that means, but I'm sure if I look it up in Wikipedia, I'll find out who said it first...

Don't get me started about the "Wiki-Deletionists." They are mostly an immoral lot, content to spread misery on arbitrarily selecting articles for deletion, and once they have their minds set on a target, it will be deleted unless enough fanatics and moderate Wikipedians speak up in defence of an article. It's essentially a witchhunt most of the time. (I'm dealing with people who consider some 450 Pokémon articles to be RELEVANT.)
You did your best, and that's what matters. You can do everything right, and still lose. Just be confident in the knowledge that you are making more money and you're happier than those people who got your article deleted? Are you asking for proof that you're living a better life than they are? You don't need it. Just trust me on this one. This isn't Wikipedia.
If any of you out there are really frustrated, I invite you to vandalize my page. (Go on, I won't tell!): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:The_Lake_Effect _________________ When all else fails, consider time travel.

Thank you Saff!
BPE, that's a shame that the german article was removed. Isn't any way to get it back? (okay, I'm a wikipedia newbie, don't know how it works. Although it doesn't seem to work on a democratic base.) Anyway, you did your best! _________________ "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" - Blade Runner |

One week ago someone resurrected the German wikipedia article.
Let's hope it will stay this time. _________________ The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on Flying: The knack of throwing yourself at the ground and miss.

Hm, I'm curious how long it'll take until the next "lack of relevance" comes up... _________________ If our music survives, which I have no doubt it will,

I assure you, the deletionists are a persistent lot. The next time they delete it, they will put a protection lock on it to prevent further creation. They deleted another article that I was working on - List of Colbert Report recurring elements - just like that. They will cite "not well written" as a criterion, and delete it before you get a chance to finish dressing it up. What a bunch of jerks.
Anyhow, as you can see, some resourceful individual has resorted to "adopting" the persecuted article under their own talk page. As soon as I figure out how to do to that, I'm going to open up my own little article orphanage... _________________ When all else fails, consider time travel.

So it seems that the original article is gone from the English wikipedia, and the StreamingSoundtracks.com redirect is useless and marked for deletion.

Indeed, I cannot access the SST english wikipedia page either.

Wikipedia is definitely useful for a lot of stuff and has definitely aided me in research I have done in the past.
I find it unfortunate how things are done on the site though. Obviously it is not the most accurate always because of the whole process, but it also seems to be very selective in what can and cannot be listed. It is really too bad that they took down the Streaming Soundtracks information as it was another avenue for people to learn about this awesome site! Maybe it will go up on wikipedia again at some point in the near future again and stay! _________________ "My Logic is Undeniable" - I, Robot |

I'm bumping up this old discussion just to report that currently there are:
Dutch
German
Polish
and
Simple English
versions of an article left. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Ah mol... if I were a younger man, I'd be all over it - but the Wikinuts are really getting out of hand with the deletions and reverts... sad really. _________________ When all else fails, consider time travel.

I'm digging up an old thread just to report that I've just realized that Polish entry about SST in Wikipedia was deleted in June 2015.
At the moment only Simple English and Dutch articles still exist. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,
