What did you just watch? with mini review

Well this idea has not really taken off just yet in the soundtrack forum, but I thought I would give the same idea a try in the entertainment forum for movies. Please lets keep everything civil and respect everyones opinion. This is just to get an idea of what people thought about what they just watched. I will get things started with a movie that I just finished a few minutes ago.

I just finished watching a movie called Proof starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Anthony Hopkins and Jake Gyllenhal with score by Stephen Warbeck. Here is a link to more information about the movie.

Overall I was very impressed with the movie and thoroughly enjoyed it. As I was watching the movie it very much reminded me of A Beautiful Mind, but it was a different spin on the subject matter. It gives you an in depth analysis of the psyche of a genius level person. I thought the performances by all the main actors were excellent especially Paltrow, who I must say I am not a big fan of but she did a wonderful job in this movie. Overall I think this was a well done movie and I definitely recommend it especially if you enjoyed A Beautiful Mind.

On a side note, I thought Warbeck's score was very effective and enjoyable. Along the lines of what Horner did for A Beautiful Mind but Warbeck has his own style which fit this movie very well.

We just went and saw the movie "16 Blocks" starring Bruce Willis and Mos Def. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450232/
An aging cop (Willis) is assigned the ordinary task of escorting a fast-talking witness (Def) from police custody to a courthouse. There are however forces at work trying to prevent them from making it

The music was done by Klaus Badelt. It was another awesome mix of action-packed-keep-you-on-your-seat-thriller music.

If you are a huge Bruce Willis fan, you will love this movie. It has a bit of a slow start, but over all the movie itself is full of twists and turns. You won't be fully satisfied until you get to the end!

Well, I just saw "V for Vendetta"(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434409/)

It was pretty good, I guess. I found it to be a bit heavy handed in terms of making sure the audience got the point of the whole affair, but coming out at the end, the briefest sample of comments heard around the lobby made it clear as to why:

"Dude, what does Vendetta mean?"
"I dunno, dude. But that masked dude kicked $#%"

Something tells me that the film might just have gone over the heads of those two gentlemen. And that's in spite of the fact that the forces behind this film went to great pains to make it blatantly obvious.

Maybe I'm being unfair. Perhaps they had an epiphany on their way back to the frat house. I'm not feeling all that hopeful about it, though.

I saw "V for Vendetta", too!

And I also think that it was a nice movie. Nathalie Portman acted very well in my eyes and the story is quiete interesting. Like Hurr78 said, the film isn't one of the easy-viewing movies. I made the same experience with some fools who loves Shocked

the whole film.

On a scale from 1 for the best to 10 for the badest, i give "V for Vendetta" a 2.

Last night we went to see Inside Man with Clive Owen and Denzel Washington. The plot line is a cop has to talk down a bank robber after the criminal's perfect heist spirals into a hostage situation.

This was one of the better movies I have seen in quite a while. I loved the twist and turns the movie made, not knowing how the movie would turn out. Clive Owen once again did a phenominal job, loved him in Sin City and King Arthur.

The music was done by Terence Blanchard. Outside of the opening theme which drove me up the wall, the music was pretty well done. The opening theme reminded me of that Bombay ST we have on here.

Overall, I think that this movie was well worth the $8.75 a ticket. So if you are thinking about going... Go and see it! Very Happy

I agree with Asriana. This movie was one of the best I have seen in a long time and the closing credit track was very cool
This movie always kept you guessing.

I just went to see "Thank you for Smoking," and I'd definitely recommend it. I never thought that tobacco lobbyists could be so funny, but in this film, that's exactly what we have. The only really weak link is Katie Holmes. I'm still not sure why people hire her to act.

I just saw a movie called The Devil's Backbone.

It is a ghost story set in a children's orphanage toward the end of the Spanish Civl War in 1939. It is directed and co-written by Guillermo del Toro, who also made Mimic and Hellboy. As much as I enjoyed those two films, The Devil's Backbone is now my favourite film by del Toro.

This is a supernatural horror movie made with intelligence and style.

Thoroughly recommended.

I just saw United 93 and M:I 3.
United 93- this movie was done very well. It's a hard movie to watch, but it was moving, true, respectful, and real. I like how Greengrass filmed it, the order of the film, and how it ends.

M:I 3- I think I like this one 2nd best (I like them in order 2, 3, and then 1). There were some really good action sequences, high tech toys, and not as many switcheroos. I was glad for the switch thing, because I think in the other movies they were overdone.
