The Battle of Hoth for me. It's epic. Sad, exciting, you name it. One of several great long tracks on the Empire soundtrack. |

It's hard to pick just one favorite. There's so much great stuff in these 6 movies, so I can't pick just one favorite.
But I can mention a track not in your poll that I find very good; "The Battle of Endor II" at 4:22 when Vader decides on wether to kill the Emperor or let the Emperor kill Luke. The choir in that particular part is very haunting and emotional. _________________ "Anything one man can imagine,

The Battle of Hoth almost takes the prize for that menacing piano.
Binary Sunset is probably the most beautiful and spiritual of them all, that haunting French horn . . .
And Asteroid Field is just outstanding.
But I had to vote for The Imperial March. Evil finally gets a theme. And it does not disappoint: galaxy spanning militarism and menace compressed into a few simple chords. |

There are so many to choose from, but I would have to go with the Imperial March. There is something about how this tune gives the impression of importance and impending peril. This is beside the fact that I think Darth Vader is the coolest baddie in movie-dom.

Well said. While I agree that the Imperial March is a great theme, the Battle of Hoth is textured with the voices of so many instruments and melodies. |
