I experience an annoying thing from time to time. I pick a track and there is no possibility to add a message to my request. I see stupid ads instead. After closing them there is a message that the request has been already done (?). Does something similar happen to you? |

It happens to me from time to time, but very seldom (last time I remember was a few months ago). I guess it's kind of a hick-up by SAM. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

There's no such thing as requesting too often. It just happens to all of us every now and then _________________ "Speak for yourself, Sir. I plan to live forever." Cmdr William T. Riker - ST:Generations |

It happens to me when I hit the request button (or some other button) while it is in the middle of processing the request. Sometimes it is just an accidental double-click on the request (my mouse is known to stutter ). Other times it is the browser being sufficiently slow in bringing up the message page, so I click again thinking it hasn't registered. In either case I get the "request already done" message.
Maybe in your case the ads are acting like a second-click. _________________ If you can't stand the heat, don't tease a dragon |

Is this what causes ghost requests, where the requester's name isn't shown? |

I think martino meant situations when your nick shows up in the Q but you get no chance to add the message.
Ghost requests usually are caused by misbehaving SAM. When ghost requests multiply we ask Admins for help and a „kick” by one of them gets SAM back on track. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

You’re right, Mol. I noticed it usually happens on my laptop. When I was requesting on my phone today, there were no issues.
Btw, ghost requests have certain benefits, actually. If they happen, you can pick the next track immediately without waiting 2 or 5 minutes |

Ghost requests seem to be a network timing issue - if there is enough of a lag on the network the request goes through but the name registration times out, so no requester information is added. As martino says, that also means the system doesn't realize you have just requested, so doesn't reset the countdown clock.
I suspect exo has a slow work (or wfh) network as he can do it fairly regularly at the moment. _________________ If you can't stand the heat, don't tease a dragon |

@martino - that particular glitch doesn't happen to me very often, but it has on occasion. When it does, it seems to be when the SST server is lagged and then suddenly catches up but with a hiccup – almost as if it considers that I've submitted my request twice. Since the first time is what counts & what registers with the DJ module, if it perceives a "second" attempt even mistakenly, the resulting screen you get will be the "already done" message.
Much more common in my experience is the "ghost request" and that seems to happen when my request & someone else's hit too close together. (Occasionally this has resulted in a double John Williams play, not that I'd ever complain about that! LOL) |

Hm. If it happens to me, I'll see if I can find a fix! |
