So, I am sure this has happened to folks before:

You sign up for a 30 day VIP membership.
You are enjoying your 30 day VIP membership
You forget when you signed up for VIP
Next thing you know, your VIP status is gone.

I would like to see it implemented that the system send a VIP renewal notice, similar to how it does once your VIP membership is expired, say, a week before the VIP membership expires, giving folks a chance to renew before their membership expires.

Is this something that can be done or has been considered in the past?

I don't know if this will help, Morg, but if you bring up your own account page (menu under Community > Your Profile) and you're a subscriber, that says exactly what date your monthly or yearly VIP expires.

Or did you mean something less passive, like a nag reminder? If the latter – I have no idea if it's ever been discussed, but maybe that could be something to add to the left-hand VIP box. Say, under the countdown timer and "request wait" notation, something like " ## of days remaining" till expiration. Something like that?

We'll have to see what the admins say. Smile

Your second option is exactly what I was referring to Smile

Why would you want this? If you want to support SST more, you can also make a donation. Wink The only advantage of renewing early that I can think of is that it keeps your favourites list available for other users. But I doubt that anyone would want to view someone's favourites while that person (the second one Razz) is not online. And if they are online, they might as well upgrade again. Wink

I find that my star disappearing is enough of a reminder, and you can get it back so quickly there is hardly any disruption.

But if anyone does want a nag then please make it optional so only those who choose to opt-in get it.

Although an automatic "nag" for everyone who has ever signed up for SST and then left/forgotten about it might be a way of re-recruiting a few more listeners. Very Happy

That pretty well sums up my feelings, too, Dragon. If suddenly your request wait changes from 5 minutes to an hour, that's a pretty clear indication that your VIP has expired. Renewing it takes only as long as clicking the link to login with Paypal & confirming the request.

Also, each time you login you're automatically forwarded to your profile page which, if you have a VIP pass, displays the date when it will expire, quite clearly at the top of your info.

Between those, I don't really see the need for yet another reminder. It would just be page clutter imo.
