I was looking for a dedicated section or topic, but couldn't find one. This should do.
Hello! I'm 607, from the Netherlands; born in 1999.
When I was younger, my father used to listen to this site a lot. I didn't know English yet, so my understanding of the "streamingsoundtracks.com. Number 1. Period." was rather off. I think this was in 2010 or 2011. I really enjoyed it when he requested a song and we waited until it would play.
He stopped using the site later, for what reason I don't know (perhaps too little time).
My father sadly died at the beginning of 2015, completely unexpectedly, and thus I didn't ever hear about this site anymore. I still remembered it though, and tried to find it through Google multiple times, but to no avail.
My mother didn't know about the site anymore, and I couldn't ask my father. However, it turned out he had (unknowingly) left me a hint: when I got my first MP3 player in 2011, he put a collection of film music on it to get me started. I knew most of it was from a special event on Qmusic, a Dutch radio station, but not all was. I have always kept this folder of music, even when I abandoned my MP3 player and moved my music to my phone.
Now, last week, I got a song on there (I always have it on Shuffle) that sounded nice, but I didn't know where it was from. "Orville's Notebook" was the name of the track, and the artist was included too, so I looked it up. But, to my surprise, I found very few useful results.
But one of the results was SST! I was delighted to have finally found the site again, especially when I saw that it still looks exactly the same.
I figured I'd have to make an account soon, and I did now. I'm not sure if I'll use this site much, as I mostly listen to video game soundtracks. Still, this is really cool to check out, at least every now and then! |

Welcome to SST! Sorry to hear about your father. Do you happen to know his SST user name? _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

Thanks for the welcome.

He hasn't posted much, apparently, nor requested many songs himself. I wasn't expecting him to have any posts here, though, as as far as I recall he only participated on Dutch forums, even though he did know English.[/url] |

I hadn't seen your reply yet. Yeah, my father got me into many things, and I'm on multiple forums where I'm the youngest guy around as a result.
That's cool, I didn't know! |

Thank you, 607, for finding us and sharing your story.
Since we know that a member has died, I wonder if there's a way we can mark his profile to indicate that. |

Would that be necessary, though?
By the way, I wonder why this is the case and how it is enforced?

Hi 607, thank you for sharing your story.
The one-hour minimum makes sure that it stays a radio station, otherwise, it would be a radio on demand thing when no one is requesting, and in short: we do not have a license for that. |

Welcome to SST, 607, and what a touching story. I've been listening to this station almost daily since 2005, and I have discovered so much wonderful music as a result. Including video game music. I do hope you enjoy the site and explore all it has to offer.
