While we're adding posts on under-appreciated composers... let's hear it for British composer Edward Shearmur. He may not have done a lot yet, but here's three highly competent pieces of work that we have in the library:
Wings of the Dove
Count of Monte Cristo
K-PAX
Not to mention that he has shown mastery of different genres... from the Governess (a quiet little art house effort) to Charlie's Angels...
He's also doing the score to Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, which comes out this summer. |

I was really surprised and impressed by this composer's range as well. Who knew he could go from semi-classical like Wings of the Dove to fun spy music like Johnny English? |

I really only know of The K-PAX-Soundtrack, but that had me pretty convinced of his variety. It's a very electronical ambient-like score. It's pretty awesome.
I got aware of his name because I heard he might be doing the score for the remake of Superman. |

I really liked The Count of Monte Cristo. Shearmur should get better scoring assignments than Charlie's Angels. _________________ "I wanna introduce you to a personal friend of mine. This is an M41A pulse rifle. Ten millimeter with over-and-under thirty millimeter pump action grenade launcher." |

I'm finding him more interesting. I want to hear more. _________________ All in the world recognize the

Reign of Fire is great too. One of those that people tend to forget. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus
