Please hear this few seconds: www.perpicx.com/musik.mp3
I believe, it's from a western (earlier than 1968) but that is all I know.
Can someone help me?

Hello jaypix,
I don't recognize this one, but then I don't watch many westerns. Have you tried a music ID app like Shazam? _________________ "A day without music is a mistake." – John Williams |

Hello Jaypix.
First i was thinking of The Big Country,
a comparable tune though lighter happier.
Being a bit slower, more heroic, i looked at Exodus,
based on a biblical story.
I think it sounds like the Exodus tune, composed by Ernest Gold.
It makes a long intro in the background, so take your time to listen.
Have a look here :

There are several versions of the music performance, one was made by a piano-duo.
Another one was made in a jazzy style with piano, sax etc..
Your example-cut sounds more like the jazzy one,
probably the arrangement by saxophonist Eddie Harris.
Have fun.
Haino.
